Exploring Membership Form

We are delighted that you are interested in becoming a member of Lambrick Park Church. We would like to get to know you better and begin the process of fully exploring what a membership with Lambrick would look like for your life. This form is an opportunity for us to start this conversation. Please complete this form (one for each person considering membership), and an elder will happily follow up with you.

Starting the Conversation

When we connect, there is much we would love to explore with you. Some practical information about that is outlined at the end of this form.

But to help get the conversation started, please respond to the following questions:

Baptism is an essential expression of Christian conversion and spiritual membership in the body of Christ (see Matthew 3:13-17, Acts 2:37-41). If you have not been baptised, we invite you to explore this with us as a vital step in your discipleship.

OUR VISION:
Life with God for the World

OUR MISSION:
To embrace and invite everyone to follow Jesus with us –
through redemptive community,
intentional discipleship
and everyday mission.

OUR CORE VALUES:
• Orthodoxy – living in the light of God’s revelation in Scripture, and, especially, in Jesus.
• Engagement – participating with God in His redemptive work in the world.
• Formation – attending and responding to God’s work and presence in our lives.

Our Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE IN:
o The divine inspiration of Holy Scripture and its consequent entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
o One God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
o Our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His sacrificial death, His resurrection, His ascension, His present intercessory work, and His personal return in power and glory.
o The salvation of lost and sinful man through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and the regeneration of the Holy Spirit by faith apart from works.
o The Holy Spirit given without rite or invocation to all who believe in Christ through the gospel, and by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life and to witness and work for the Lord.
o The unity and common priesthood of all true believers, who together form the one universal Church, the body of which Christ is head.
o The resurrection both of the saved and the lost, the saved unto life and the lost unto condemnation.

Membership at Lambrick

Why do we talk about membership at Lambrick? Because, biblically, church isn’t something that we go to once a week. It is something that we are together. At its’ core, the church is a covenant community – called together and called out by God – in a common commitment to Christ, to a shared pursuit (vision, mission, values), and to one another. At Lambrick, membership is about making and living this commitment – for the sake of others.

Although we do use the language of membership, our vision of this is more about joining a family and the shared responsibilities this brings, than a Costco-membership concept (which for a small fee brings rights, privileges and being a part of the ‘in’ crowd). In truth, church membership means sharing the responsibility, playing your part, and working together for the benefit of all. That’s what the Lambrick needs and what we believe God wants.

If this is what you are after, then we’d like to invite you to take this next step with us.

Below you will find the three core commitments that members make at Lambrick. But first, two considerations. None of these are meant to be laws or rules, but commitments that free us to pursue together what God is calling us to be and do as a church. And with that, while the latter two commitments of membership are very real, they are not forever commitments. They are “for the season that God gives us together” commitments. All that to say, none of us will live these commitments perfectly, but we commit to pursue them wholeheartedly.

Affirming Your Membership

**By the grace of God, I will share in the ministry of Lambrick through regular financial giving.

*participating in the decisions and direction of Lambrick prayerfully (Acts 15).
**By the grace of God, I will seek God for His leading in the life of Lambrick and will seek the unity and fruitfulness of the church.

As brothers and sisters in Christ, I commit to seeking God’s will with and for Lambrick – serving and growing together in humility, love and unity.
