Clearing the Plains

Join us for a roughly 1.5hr video recording of a presentation, given in a church, by the Canadian historian Dr. James Daschuk based on his book Clearing the Plains: Disease, Politics of Starvation, and the Loss of Aboriginal Life. While focused on the prairies of Canada, many of the policies and postures explored were national in scope and therefore deeply helpful for us in BC as we seek to become the more "historically literate citizens who understand why and how the past is relevant to their own present and the future of the country" that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and our faith, calls us to be.
